Stellenbosch Family Dental (SFD) is a dynamic, family-oriented practice located in the heart of Stellenbosch, on the ground floor of the Stelkor Medical Centre. Building on one of the oldest dental practices in Stellenbosch, we offer a wide variety, state-of-the-art dental and aesthetic procedures for patients of all ages. Your visit includes complimentary parking at the Stelkor Medical Centre.

Dr Ester Toua (married Van den Berg)

As an extrovert, I love working with people, understanding their needs, and turning their expectations into reality. It’s incredibly rewarding to relieve pain, boost confidence, and see scared patients trust the process.
Being a mom has given me an added passion for the dental care of kids’ teeth. I understand the importance of establishing good dental habits early and making sure children feel comfortable and safe during their visits.
The true art is creating a beautiful smile while preserving as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. Any dentist can drill away tooth structure, but it takes skill and dedication to maintain the integrity of natural teeth.”
Dr Ester Toua completed her dental studies at Tygerberg at the Stellenbosch/UWC Campus in 2010. To further enhance her skills and ensure she provides the highest standard of dental care, she also earned a diploma in aesthetic dentistry in 2012.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr Ester is a devoted mother to a wonderful son and daughter. Her husband is her rock, providing unwavering support in both her personal and professional life. In her free time, Dr Ester loves to embrace the great outdoors through camping and mountain biking, activities that bring her joy and balance.

Dr Arina Toua
“Being a dentist has made me realize how many interests I have and how this profession satisfies most of them. I also have the great privilege to be part of the wonderful SFD team alongside my cousin. I believe that balance and diversity are key factors to living a healthy and enriched life. I am also well aware that each person is uniquely crafted, which makes it essential to find your own interests in different aspects of life. Dr Arina graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2020 with a degree in dentistry. Committed to offering the latest and most effective treatments, she has pursued additional short courses to enhance her skills and stay updated with current advancements in the field. Outside the practice, Dr Arina cherishes spending quality time with family and friends. She finds joy in outdoor activities and culinary creativity, especially when shared with loved ones.

Anja is the warm and welcoming voice you’ll hear when you call, and the friendly face that will greet you at our practice.
With her gentle nature and warm presence, Anja instantly puts patients at ease, ensuring they feel comfortable throughout their visit. Her passion for patient care is evident to everyone she interacts with, and her friendly manner makes each patient feel completely at home. Anja’s competence and readiness to assist in any way possible are just some of the qualities that make her an invaluable part of our team.
Beyond her professional expertise, Anja recharges by enjoying nature walks with her dogs or spending time outdoors.

Beyond her professional achievements, she is a devoted mother to a beautiful son and daughter and a creative soul who enjoys gardening and painting.

Karliena, our longest-serving team member, knows the heart of the team. With her gentle spirit and nurturing nature, she ensures that everyone operates at their best, providing the highest level of care to our patients.
